The SDC is charged with development and revision of curriculum as required by the College per THECB and SACSCOC guidelines. Biomedical Equipment Technician

 

My responsibilities as a BMET with FMCNA includes the preventive maintenance and repair of all equipment involved with dialysis treatment.  This includes tracking of repairs, maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies. My responsibilities also include field service to multiple clinics, as well as home dialysis patients.  I am also directly involved with inventory control and coordination of the facility maintenance.

Maintenance Mechanic II

 

This was a part time position to ensure the integrity of the Reverse Osmosis Water Distribution System.  My responsibilities include disinfect of RO and RO distribution system. Including the performance and tracking of LAL and bacteria cultures. I coordinate with the Director of Facilities, ICU staff and dialysis staff to ensure the patient safety.  I also provide training and oversight of the facilities staff responsible for the daily parameter checks of the system.  I maintain the records required by various hospital regulatory agencies for the system as well as coordinate with the outside vendor for service and repairs.

During my employment with Crest Services, I was afforded the opportunity to work in a large hospital with a very experienced and mentoring biomedical staff.  First call response to all medical departments. Working with medical and administrative staff to resolve problems with all types off medical equipment as well as performing preventive maintenance.  I was then assigned to the corporate clinics division and was responsible for the Clinical Engineering programs of a number of smaller hospital and surgical facilities.
